Dave Aron – hedges on "early data" for 2014 predictions. 70% of CIOs say their businesses are satisfied with IT services.

Satisfaction with IT – structural changes; Office of CIO; Strategy office; main focus on business strategy, benefit realization,  proactive communication, expectations mgmt. Things are getting better.

But the game is changing.

15% of audience greater than 30 yrs in IT. We've all heard it many, many times… but digital is a major change.

First phase of IT maturity was "IT getting used to wearing suits". LOL

Last year and a half was about predictability. We lost a bit of innovation. Discover the digital possibilities. Users become partners. Digital Leadership. Focus on new business models.

Top 3 Spending Priorities – mixture of Nexus forces and getting ERP/Infra/DC ready for digital scale. Increasingly digital environments. 

A digital tsunami is upon us. 54% of CIOs agree that there is a digital demand that they can't keep up with. Threatening credibility.
39% of IT orgs do not have the talent to handle the new digital world. 

What tech companies are the most innovative? Incumbents losing. Many new players.
Role of Cloud? Digital era?

Public cloud investments are paying off. Attitudes are more positive. When and what instead of no. 25% of CIOs have made significant investments in cloud. The benefits are broader than cost – more focused on agility. It isn't as scary as previously thought and benefits are greater than we expected.

When will more than 50% of your business run in the public cloud? Answer is bullish.

60% of IT activities traditionally delivered. 40% using agile approaches. New "two-speed" IT orgs. Accepting more risk.
Audience poll shows about 30% of attendees feel like they are two-speed IT orgs.

Only 19% of IT teams have the skills they need. 36% say they need to completely overhaul IT skills and teams.

Partnerships are changing. 68% will change partnerships. 46% working with new partners. 26% seek to diversify. Need to learn with whole new classes of partners.

CDO role – is it really happening? Less than 10% have a formal CDO role. For some it's a digital strategist, for others its digital marketing lead, for others it's a digital BU role. Most report to CEO at 38%.
