Ouch! iphone ios 4.0.2 not compatible with xcode 3.2.3

So i just upgraded my iphone 3GS to IOS 4.0.2 - that turns out to be a mistake if you use xcode 3.2.3 to create iphone apps. IT IS NOT COMPATIBLE YET. After reading more about what is in 4.0.2 vs 4.0.1, it appears that 4.0.2 only includes a change that keeps you from jailbreaking your iphone! I actually dont care about jailbreaking but it's a huge problem if xcode does not work!

Here's what you need to do to get back to 4.0.1. Search google for "download ios 4.0.1". I happened to find this site:
http://www.iphoneheat.com/2010/07/download-ios-4-0-1-firmware-for-iphone-4-3gs-3g-build-8a306/

and downloaded the correct 4.0.1 image for my 3GS.

Once the download is complete, open up iTunes.
MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS BACKED UP!
Plug in your iphone to connect to your Mac.
Highlight your iphone in iTunes and go to the "Summary" tab.
Hold down the "option" key and click "Restore".
This should pop up window that will allow you to select the IOS 4.0.1 image you just downloaded.
BE CAREFUL!!!!!! MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS BACKED UP!
Click ok to continue and follow the steps. Basically this will replace 4.0.2 with 4.0.1.
Once the IOS 4.0.1 is back on your iPhone, iTunes will prompt you to restore your files. Do this and your iPhone will basically be back to normal. Next iTunes will prompt you to upgrade to 4.0.2. CLICK NO!

    Ok.. now what? Build doesn't work in Xcode 4.0 preview yet ( lots of errors ) build can't install with Xcode 3.2.3 because I have 4.0.2...and I can't downgrade to 4.0.1 because Apple is too busy chasing Jailbrakers..

    Why do I feel like a guy who just got caught in a traffic jam caused by cops chasing robbers and all Im doing is trying to get to F*C*C()%(# WORK...

    ok im starting to laugh at myself now... FJHF***FF*
