SW will be completely decoupled from database
Enterprise 3.0 vs Enterprise 2.0
Enterprise Service Bus in Memory
Cost of solid-state memory continues to
Google/Facebook etc – all of them run their businesses in memory; db is only to store
Companies with the “2 second advantage” will be the winners; respond within 2 seconds
Exploding data

Enterprise 2.0 is still focused on CRM systems; hundreds of millions being spent by companies; delayed, slow; largely static data; silo’d apps; app server for development; continually seek info; “I wish I knew”; data is in rows/columns (two dimensions)

In Enterprise 3.0 - Every sub-transaction is an event; example Harrah’s and Gary Loveman; needed immediate customer response; every single slot machine pull is an event; every event communicates through the ESB; SOA with Service Bus as nervous system; end to end biz processes; real-time rules engine – anticipates what is going to happen; event server instead of app server; info comes to you; “enterprise triple store” = name/value/context or inference
